Tamaki Drive Cycleway is now complete and offering improved connectivity between Glen Innes, Parnell and the central city.
Working in conjunction with local Iwi artist Graham Tipene and George Woolford from BECA, Walkspace supplied a series of 6 Bespoke Nodes, or viewing posts as well as seating along the cycle route that offer a chance to pause and take in the surroundings. Each post is orientated in a specific manner to point to a particular feature, such as Rangitoto, Bastion Point, North Head or Hobson Bay.
Constructed from Laminated Macrocarpa each post contains a unique Corten portal with artwork supplied by local Iwi artists Graham Tipene. A circular Corten inlay has also been supplied, set in a large Boulder, located under Pohutakawa at Ngapipi Bridge.
Cladding the Hobson Bay Bridge is a backlit LED series of Bridge end panels also supplied by Walkspace incorporating Grahams artwork.
