Over the last year Walkspace has been rather busy working closely with Otakaro in Christchurch, (formerly CERA) to develop and finalise the design, fabrication and delivery of bespoke seating elements to the Avon River precincts within the Christchurch CBD.
Walkspace worked through the feasibility, construction, and ergonomic details in the design from a developed design suite undertaken by LandLab landscape architects based in Auckland.
The suite of seating elements ranging from standard short and long benches through to seats with short and full backs offers supreme flexibility to fit the right seating element to the right location with ease.
Constructed from marine grade stainless steel the seat frames are clad in locally sourced Saligna hardwood slats, both materials offering supreme durability and extended lifespan over conventional street furniture materials.
The first elements are now installed in and around the recently completed upgrade of the Bridge of Remembrance so if you are in the area pop on down and have seat.
We will continue to provide updates on this exciting project so watch this space.
As always if you would like to learn more, please do not hesitate to contact the team at Walkspace.
